Must Have- Back to Campus with Schick Disposable razors

September 5, 2015

Back to school is a period of a lot of excitement, changes, challenges and new opportunities. I love this season because it brings a lot of memories to me… When I was 16 years old my family decided to move to a different city and I didn’t like the idea at all; new school, new neighborhood, new friends, new environment? (NAH!) I had plenty of reasons to feel uncomfortable with the change (or at least I thought). We moved to a brand new house right at the beginning of the summer and it took us months to decorate it and make it feel like HOME. Because I didn’t want to show my parents any sympathy for the new house and the overall transition, I found myself feeling excited about going to a new school. My favorite part was, of course, shopping, I spent days doing my “Must Have back to school list” so I decided that in this post I wanted to share with you ladies some ideas of school supplies that helped me feel ready and confident about going back to campus and that new stage in my life.

1- At the top of my list is RAZORS. I use Schick Disposable Razors. My favorites are Schick Xtrem3 and Schick Hydro 5. These razors are killer! They are designed for sensitive skin, they will never leave your irritated or with razor burn, they also contain aloe vera and oils that leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated. I get them at Walmart.Schick Disposable Razors

2- Bag: I prefer the Tote Style that go on one side of the shoulder, they are very comfortable and sophisticated.leather-tote-bags-for-work-wbbrcn7p

3- A journal: I can’t survive without one. They make me feel organized and up to date. I love writing down my day to day responsibilities in one place.agenda

4- Pen, pencils and markers: I love decorating my notebooks and highlighting important events in my journal67c2c9e29386c02ac16d17cf67ac8bed

5- Shoes: A good and comfy pair of shoes are essential.shoes

6- IPad:  As the modern and techie girl that I am I like having an IPad handy; it’s a big help when researching or doing homework.ipad

7- Water bottle: If you want to have beautiful skin you must drink a good amount of water. Carrying water with you is a good reminder. I try my best not to leave home without my water bottle.

8- Lip balm:  The summer/autumn transition can be hard on your lips and they tend to dry during this change, I always protect my lips with a good uv/moisturized lip balm.lipbalm2

Albertine Revolutionary Shoes

September 3, 2015

I was searching on the internet for some comfortable, fashionable yet versatile heels options that I could wear to the office, to a party, during the day, at night, to travel… but you girls know how difficult is to find the “perfect” pair of shoes, right?… Well, after hours navigating on the web I found a super talented Italian shoe maker and designer with an AMAZING and unique idea. Her line is called “Albertine” and she makes the most unbelievably versatile heels I have ever seen, and I’m not kidding. When I found her website I was delighted to see how her idea works.

The Albertine are made of the platform, the heel and the upper part. You can totally interchange all the parts and mix and match your shoes to create over 3,000 different styles. I just love the idea of simply interchanging heels and platforms for a totally different look that allows you to go from one place to the other feeling beautiful and sophisticated.

Here is a super cool video that shows you how to combine it and the engineering behind it:

Alexandra Alberta Chiolo is the name of this super talented Italian designer and it took her over 5 years to create, study, test and launch this idea. Her shoes are entirely made in Italy, with natural materials and fine handcrafted leather.

Alexandra plans to bring the Albertine revolutionary shoes to USA. She has started a Kickstarter to back the production, so please click here to learn more about the production and contribute to the brand!

Schick Disposable Razors – Back to Campus

September 2, 2015

Schick Disposable Razors Summer is almost over and I can truly say that I have fully enjoyed it! Fortunately, I live in Los Angeles, California, one of the most beautiful places in the world. The sun, beach and sand are part of my panorama and daily environment. Recently I learned how to paddleboard and I loved it so I have been spending a lot of time at the beach.  Because of that, the health and care of my skin is very important to me, especially because I have been exposing it to the sun and salt water more than ever. Either during the summer or during this back to school period, to have smooth, hydrated and hairless skin provides me with the confidence I need to face the day, especially now that my schedule, responsibilities and activities get kinda crazy.  As a dominican — half black, half hispanic — I have naturally thick hair and sometimes I suffer from ingrown hairs, particularly on my legs, but I few months ago I discovered the perfect disposable razors for my sensitive skin and my type of body hair.

I use two types of Schick Disposable razors. First, I use the Schick Xtrem3 for sensitive skin. That razor has aloe vera, three blades and really fights razor burn.  I use this one for my legs.

Second, I use the Schick Hydro 5. That one has shave oils, hydrating gel and skin guards that leave my skin feeling super soft and hydrated.

What I love about these disposable razors is that the chance for nicks is much less than most razors, and the razor heads are wide and provide stability, which reduces shaving time, and they are  also very economical. You can purchase them at almost every drugstore in the USA.

Schick Disposable Razors

I got my Schick disposable razors at Walmart. I encourage you to go to your closest Walmart, give them a try and share your thoughts and experience with me! I know you will love it.

Schick Disposable Razors
